One and the same – the first (and only?) British woman to finish the Dakar :)

Drives me crazy to see this — well-organized, off-road training schools, teaching decent skills. And using the big KTM trailies, no less! Here in the states, unless you live in CA, AZ, NV, or places out West, you are out of luck. Few and far between, that’s the situation for schools here in the states. Or if you do find one, all they want to teach you is how to find first, your brake levers, choke, etc.. Then again, you can’t find any of the cool big trailies — Africa Twin, Tenere, etc. — here unless they are imported. Sad, I tells you…

That’s interesting to hear Andrew. I would say the United States is the ideal location for such schools all over the country. The UK is probably one of the most densely populated member states in Europe. What open spaces are available are given over to farming, recreation or are designated as national parks.

There is an ever increasing restriction being placed on motor vehicles on trails and its a situation not helped by the few trail riders or kids that take unlicensed bikes off the beaten track and tear up the place and scare the horses so to speak.

So we have the schools but limited access and I’m guessing you have more access and no schools.

So the question is Andrew. After Enduro Africa will you be setting up the first dedicated off road school in Maryland? ;)
