Although this has now been largely remedied by BMW they are not actively recalling the F800 GS for this. If the problem presents itself then they will fix it. If not they may or may not fix it. It depends on the dealership. For me it didn’t come off until I had done a few thousand kilometres. If you find yourself on a long trip and far from a dealership the following video I put together last year just may save you a lot of hassle.

I had the same issue with the hose. Was a warranty case at my BMW dealer, so I got a new one
Is a known issue – that’s what happens when you are first BMW test rider *lol* My hose went of during motorbike tour spring 2009 from Flensburg (Top of Germany) to Mediterranean Sea (South France). Fixed like you showed with Leathermann. Kind regards GeeSee (Sascha)
